Guetzli: Make JPEG’s 35% Smaller
Guetzli, a new open source algorithm from google that creates high quality JPEG images with file sizes 35% smaller than currently available methods, enabling webmasters to create webpages that can load faster and use even less data.
Guetzli is designed to work on high quality images (e.g. that haven’t been already compressed with other JPEG encoders). While it will work on other images too, results will be poorer. It uses large amount of memory. You should provide 300MB of memory per 1MPix of the input image. Source Code and Binaries Can be found here on github.
