Phonegap
PhoneGap is a mobile application development framework, based upon the open source Apache Cordova project. It has a set of device APIs that allow a mobile app developer to access native device function such as the camera or accelerometer from JavaScript. Combined with a UI framework such as jQuery Mobile or Dojo Mobile or Sencha Touch, this allows a smartphone app to be developed with just HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
PhoneGap Build is a cloud-based service built on top of the PhoneGap framework. It allows you to easily build those same mobile apps in the cloud. Using Adobe Phonegap build you can package apps for iOS, Android, Blackberry, Windows Phone, Palm WebOS, Bada, and Symbian. Phonegap build is super simple, just upload your web assets – a ZIP file of HTML, CSS and JavaScript, or a single index.html file – to PhoneGap Build, or point it to your Git or SVN repository. Then the cloud service undertakes the compilation and packaging of your app. In minutes, you’ll receive the download URLs for all mobile platforms.
