Artificial intelligence is changing the world around us more rapidly than ever. From playing chess to self driving cars we have seen them all. Now AI is giving us something to marvel about in the field of literature. Artificial fiction is now possible, mostly through the use of modern neural networks that can learn how to write in English (or any other language for that matter). Generally the writing from these neural networks isn’t very good, but it can be remarkably insightful into the patterns and styles of the genre it is taught to imitate.

It is possible for anyone with a laptop to easily train neural networks and create their own artificial fiction. Literai is a site to host tutorials that show everyone how easy it can be. Literai is also home for fiction written by computers and its goal is to encourage the careful creation of entertaining stories in this new artform.

“The question of whether a computer can think is no more interesting than the question of whether a submarine can swim.”
-Edsger W. Dijkstra
